Help on lightning sorc!

I've noticed a trend of only seeing hammerdins as baalfarmers but as I personally prefer the mechanics of a sorc I was kinda searching around for a gearguide on lightning sorc.

So basically, anybody got some guides or can tell me what gear to use?|||For me, I go with single element (lightning) and 20 points in lightning and all the synergies.

I use tal set, but many people think its cheap. People would mostly suggest hoto (for fcr and resist) and shako, I believe.

But Tal set is the one for me.|||Depending on how far you want to go, you can get a variety of setups ranging from fairly cheap, to fairly expensive.

A standard and usually cheap setup is the following

weapon - Occulus

shield - lidless

helm - shako

armor - skin of the vipermagi

belt - glooms trap

rings - anything with fcr and mana/life/res

amulet - 2 to sorc skills or 3 to lightning (either or, extra stats are a plus)

gloves - frosties/magefists

boots - silkweave

The most expensive set up would be the following

weapon - eschuta's with 20% light dmg, or hoto for fcr

shield - spirit monarch shield

armor - coh

helm - griffon's eye

belt - arach's

rings - sojs or soj/raven (for cannot be frozen)

amulet - mara's (30 res max)

gloves - frosties (mana)/magefists(fcr)

boots - sandstorm trek/war travs (magic find)

Any additional lightning charms would be just added damage, getting ones with useful mods is usually expensive though, so stick with just standard if you dont have a lot to trade with. As Exuberance said, tals is a fairly cheap alternative as well (except for the armor/amulet) which will only cost you maybe a pul - ist anyway.|||The most important thing about a pure light sorc is the merc weapon, you really want the conviction aura it helps immensly.

Your own gear is acutally of less importance imho.|||Get your merc Infinity .. Then you ll be killing machine .. maybe even better than hammers and blizz sorcs.|||Does having an Infinity allow a lightning sorc to kill pretty much everything in the game?|||Quote:

Yes though monsters that were previously light immune will die a lot slower than non light immunes.|||I can't wait until I've worked up to an Infinity. Lightning immune mobs just ruin my day. Otherwise lightning sorc's are a blast! I've made one every ladder for quite a while. I agree with shooting for something like Tal's set until you can get the most expensive stuff. It makes life a little easier for sure!|||If I'm not remembering incorrectly, there are a very few lightning immunes that conviction does not break. Yes, that is right.

It is also why you really want gear that has -enemy light resistance. Griffins I'd good, but Crecent moon is a good start, as its pretty inexpensive.
