how to turn off numerical life/mana display?

For a long time now, I've had white text like "MANA: 221 / 221" above my blue orb. A couple of days ago I did something -- no idea what -- that caused more white text saying "LIFE: 949 / 949" to appear above my red orb. The numbers constantly update, and it's distracting. How can I make that white text go away?

|||I believe if you simply click (maybe double click?) the bottom half of either orb (life/mana) you can make the numerical display come and go.
