Is any of these: fire, poison, cold, lightning damage, magic damage?
What exactly is magic damage?
Thanks.|||It's a damage category of its own, being what bone spear, tornado, berserk and blessed hammer deal, for example.|||It depends on the context. If you could explain more of what item or skill you are referring to we can help you with finding exactly which one it is.
More than likely it should mean magic damage, such as the necromancer's bone spells. Such as Teeth, Bone Spear and Bone Spirit.
Edit: Beat by Krischan. See his example for more magic damage sources than mine.|||Quote:

Tornado deals physical damage.|||You are probably right . I haven't played a wind druid for a couple of years now because they suck so much in pvm.|||However, if you are talking about an item that says "magic damage reduced by x" then it applies to fire, light, cold, and magic. It is a rather confusing term at times.|||Quote:

That was the case. I had found a rare armor with dam. AND magical dam. reduced mods and thought it would be good for my mercenary. But seeing the first posts, I discarded it.
And the reduction doesn't apply to poison, too?|||Nope if you want to reduce poison damage the only way I know of is to either increase poison resist or reduce poison length. Look for items like Death's Set gloves or Cleglaw's Shield for poison length reduced.
That is what I meant by context by the way. Thanks kestegs for verifying what I thought.
