Including bonuses you get from rings/armors/items (like GCs), what is the maximum limit on the skill point you can have per skill? Is it 40?|||There is no hard cap, but in practice its limit by what items are in the game.
The limit is 20 (if the class has the skill) + whatever +skills items you can wear +1 (Battle Command) +2 (Skill Shrine).
So it depends on the skill how many levels are possible. I think someone came up with the number 52 or something like that, for Inferno (with a Barbarian dual-wielding Flamebellow swords).|||There is no hard cap that I'm aware of. Skills can be pushed above level 40 with the right setup.
Edit: pwned by jiansonz|||I belive that the highest possible skill lvl is 61. That is Necro Skeleton Mastery after skill shrine and battle command.|||You probably assume +3SM/+3 summon wands and necro heads. It needs an elite wand/head with a very low item level to get that combo, but it's impossible to produce them, including cube recipes. The closest you can come is imbuing with a L8 character, but rares cannot have more than +2 on a skill tree (and it will need a LOT of imbues). That means, AoKL/+5 wand and a +5 head will be the maximum.
Skill ranks: +20
+3 summon amulet: +3
2 sojs: +2
+3 summon circlet or Undead Crown: +3
AoKL/imbued wand: +5
Rare imbued head: +5
CoH/Arkaine's/Enigma: +2
Gloves: 0
Arach: +1
Marrowwalks: +2
9 sumon skillers, Anni, torch: +13
Skill shrine: +2
Battle command: +1
That's +59.|||Wouldnt a 'White' wand made in a wand with inherent +3 SM lead to +7 SM?|||That's correct, I overlooked that. Then it's +61, of course.
However, you need a low ilvl to have a chance on SM as a staff mod and those wands which can have two sockets at low ilvls are from TC18 (bone wands) or higher, so it might need fixing a cracked one by the recipe (which produces an ilvl 1 one) to get one with +3 SM.|||You can shop sockted Bone Wands in Act II Normal. Only 10% of the staffmods will be level 1 staffmods, though.
You can increase the chance to get level 1 staffmods (to 30% I think) if you shop with a character that is exactly level 13 (you need to be this high to see Bone Wands at all).
Repairing low quality wands works too, of course.|||you old guys, and your cracked wands!!
