Ladder reset?

[:1]Heard people talk about an upcoming ladder reset in the trade forum, and I just wanna ask: do anyone know the source of this info?

I checked arreat summit, but I found nothing.

Also, what does iirc mean in trades?

There was a major voting about how long the ladder's should be. And the result came to be 6 months. So every 6 months, the ladder resets. And all ladder stuff become non-ladder.

Last reset was 28 Mars 2011. So the next reset should be 28 September 2011. (might have been 24mars-24sept...)

Well, that's not the whole story. A first poll led to 9 or 12 months, but then some reason was found to make a second poll and that one led to 6 months. Internet polls are subject to manipulation rather easily and in this case, I for myself put more trust into the first poll than into the second.|||Quote:

So you think blizz just chose the poll result that suited them best I take it?

Or are you suggesting they manipulated the second poll to get it their way?|||Q1: No, but Blizzard is doing what causes the loudest faction (at least of those in their own forum) to stay calm, aka populism.

Q2: No, I don't believe in that kind of conspiracy theories.

Manipulation might have been the wrong word, maybe distortion is better. In the first poll, a certain kind of people has participated. Then other people realized that the result led to a decision about the length of the ladder season and became upset. A second poll was started and this time a different mix of people participated. I for myself believe that the mix of the first poll was a better representation of the battlenet community than those of the second one.
