3k eth armor/ranged enemies

Which armors are needed to get 3k+ defense with Fortitude? Which can get 4+? Which is the best? Etc.

Ranged enemies kick by butt, ALL the time. Do ranged attacks ignore block? How can I fight this? I can do okay, but my merc keeps getting killed so I want to be able to charge in so he doesn't die but I don't want to die either.|||Peace armour on a mercenary actually fires off the slow missiles quite regularly under fire but most classes have some sort of skill/spell to cope with ranged attackers.

Failing that a dim vision wand on swap for occasional use can even make the game quite pedestrian for some classes. They're cheap to buy so don't waste gold repairing them. |||Quote:

They do not ignore blocking, but running reduces your blocking percentage by 3/4. So if you have max block, 75%, your blocking will be reduced to 25%. Turn off auto run and use the control button as needed.

An item that has teleport charges may help. Or you can run back in the direction you came from and hopefully your mercenary will either follow, if they're not surrounded or will magically appear next to you if you go far enough. Then there is also town portals or way points to collect the mercenary as well.|||Quote:

Never knew that, but a lot of things make more sense now. So walking works then?

I have all of that available to me. It's just that it doesn't hit me to do that stuff too quickly, I just panic and then when I realize I need to TP he's already dead half the time.|||Quote:

This is true conceptually, but 25% of 75% is 18.75%, not 25%.|||Quote:

Sorry my bad, I meant 1/3.
