P.S. Fact of the day: The game used to simply destroy the unneeded ingredients and still transmute and give you one result. The game now checks for the correct ingredients and will do nothing if they are not exact. This keeps items from getting destroyed if you accidentally press the transmute button.

Edit: Wait, are you asking if you can fuse them together to create a super weapon of sort? No, the only thing the cube is good for is listed in these two pages (other than being needed for Acts II and III's Quests):
