Question about block

[:1]Hello, i have a noob question about block: i know the cap is 75%, but is it also related/lowered by current equipped shield block ?

I mean my current shield has 72% block; does that mean i cant go past 72% total block even if stats screen says 75% ?

The cap is 75% on chance to block. The % on the shield gives you and idea roughly about how easy it would be to achieve that. Like a shield with 59% block on it would req more dex by the same char to get to/maintain the cap than a shield with 72% on it.

Kaytie|||In the expansion, the value shown on the shield is just one of the factors. The forumula is like that:

Block chance = (value on the shield)*(dex-15)/(2*level)

That means, the dex score must reflect the character level. The higher the level, the more investments into dex have to be made. You can see the real block chance when moving the mouse cursor over the defense rating in the character screen. It's capped at 75% and when running, it's divided by 3 and capped at 25%.

In classic, it's simply the value on the shield.
