old player returning, quick question(for now)

I've started playing diablo 2 again out of boredom, already as addicted to it as i was years and years ago. However, when i last played, i dont recall ever seeing any of these runewords. So a question i got about them is, can you use 2 with the same name? To be specific, im thinking of getting my hardcore ladder pally double spirit runewords, one as sword and one as shield. Is it possible, or is there some built in mechanic that would stop me from doing it or that would greatly cripple the second one so that i couldn't get the double bonuses that the 2 have in common? Only level 12, and my gatherer toon has not gotten around to getting high enough to get them, so figured id ask now before going thru all that effort. Tried searching, but could not find an answer from anything recent, and with patches potentially changing things, did not want to go too far back and go on old info. There is only one problem and that is that you need a 4 socket shield. Unless you play a Paladin the only 4 socket shield that you can equip is the monarch and that requires 156 strength and is an elite kite shield. The sword however is a lot easier to come by.|||Oh good then, i can keep an eye out for the potential items. Yea, its for my paladin, so shouldnt be that difficult. Conventional paladin builds dont work for me so im making up my own as i go along, its working ok, but the stats on the double spirits will make things alot easier. Time to get my gatherer up and farming. Thanks for the info
