SoJ Scam ?

Was just reading arreat summit and came across this, could somebody explain what it is please

Quote:

Common Runes

Runes are listed from most common to least common: El, Eld, Tir, Nef, Eth, Ith, Tal, Ral, Ort, Amn, Shael, and Thul are pretty common. You receive Ral, Ort and Tal as a quest reward in Act V. You shouldn't trade much for them since you can find them pretty easily with regular play. Don't fall for the "1 Shael or/+ Amn for 1 SOJ" scam. You can find these yourself. If you're thinking of freeing up space, throw those Runes away and save all Runes from Sol through Zod.|||Can you provide a link to the thread or page in question?|||http://classic.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/runes.shtml

Its under the commom runes section, never owned a SOJ, I only started playing a few months ago, I was ust wondering what it was.|||Are you asking what an SOJ is, or what the scam is?|||It's just saying Stone of Jordan (SOJ) is rare, shaels and amns are not. So don't trade an SOJ for cheap, common runes, because if you do you're getting ripped off. SOJ's are pretty rare.|||Apart from that, if you need space in the inventory, do not throw away all runes below Sol. Keep Tal-Amn and maybe also Nef, they are needed for Spirit runewords (ladder only) and crafting.|||The best thing I've found to do is just read, and read some more. Use forums like this one to research trade values and determine what definitions are. It takes some time, but it's worth it if you don't want to get ripped off. Also, I've found most all of the people on this forum to be very honest and interested in keeping their ratings high, so try trading with them first. :)|||It's definitely tough to find out what the value of certain items is, but the main thing is to remember that values are variable, like if something is worth a LOT to one person, but nothing to the other.
